Emily Coleman Joins Firm as Vice President of Enrollment Management Services

CONCORD, MA – (September 15, 2014) – Maguire Associates, a leading higher-education consultancy, today announced that Emily Coleman has joined the firm as its Vice President of Enrollment Management Services.

“As a consultant, Emily provided our clients with actionable insights based on sharp analysis,” said Jim Murtha, CEO Maguire Associates. “Now that she’s part of our leadership team, she’ll build on that work by broadening our offerings, leading implementation of new solutions for clients and closely collaborating with our established team of analysts and industry veterans.”

Coleman previously worked as Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Management at Syracuse University, where she focused on modeling, market analysis, and survey research. “I’ve always held Maguire Associates in high regard and I’m proud to be part of the team,” she said. “I’m looking forward to working directly with clients, and I’m very excited about leading many of the enrollment management initiatives including the upgraded EMFASYS®,” the firm’s proprietary predictive-modeling service that provides institutions with data and insights that help them reach specific enrollment goals including individual student aid awarding.

In addition to creating statistical models that shape financial-aid policies, Coleman has designed surveys of students, faculty and parents and developed a predictive model of Bar exam results. She holds a Ph.D. in Social and Personality Psychology from Cornell University, and a B.A. in Psychology and Philosophy from Boston College.

“Emily’s on-the-ground experience in enrollment management coupled with her training in psychology prepared her well for working with us,” said John Maguire, Chairman Emeritus. On September 19, Coleman will give a presentation at the 2014 National Association for College Admission Counseling(NACAC) conference in Indianapolis, IN on the use big data in the enrollment process. During the session, Coleman will present a generic competitive intelligence analysis that outlines clear strategies for using geodemography to identify regions and schools that are prime for recruitment. “This presentation illustrates how Maguire Associates helps clients find new markets that hold the highest potential for recruiting success,” said Coleman. Emily will also touch on the use of big data in Maguire’s predictive modeling offerings, including the inquiry-to-applicant conversion models EMPOWR, and the financial aid and yield forecasting models EMFASYS®.
