E. Ann Hollier
Special Consultant
Ann has over 25 years of experience in both academic and corporate research settings serving clients ranging from institutions of higher education to Fortune 500’s, non-profits, political candidates, and the media. She is a skilled communicator, strategist, and public speaker, adept at working with interdisciplinary teams of senior executives to craft effective responses to strategic challenges. Ann has had a relationship with Maguire Associates for over 20 years, first as Senior V.P. for Research, then as a co-founder and head of research at Internet-based spinoff DiscoverWhy, then as an independent research consultant with her own practice, Cogent Consortium, and currently as an executive performance coach in private practice at Cogent Executive Coaching. She continues to use research-based methods to guide her work with senior executives and their teams, establishing benchmarks and metrics for measuring progress and success. She focuses on execution: building the leadership, collaboration, and accountability strategies necessary to perform at a high level in challenging circumstances. One of her most important insights as a coach is that world class performance requires alignment with the individual’s natural style and unique talents, passions, and calling. Thus, she works with her clients not just on business execution but also the inner game of excellence. Ann has a research Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Virginia and a B.A. from Vassar College. Ann’s personal interests include running, backpacking, adventure travel, music, and the study of human consciousness. She is a published writer, illustrator, and photographer. A cancer survivor, she also mentors cancer survivors and others who are in training for endurance sports events to raise money for cancer research.
