Behind the Scenes at Magna – December 14, 2010
Yesterday Maguire Associates’ Roland Stark and Sarah Parrott were in Madison, WI, to deliver a webinar at the studios of Magna Publications. You might know Magna from their publications, such as Recruitment & Retention, which recently published a retention article by Maguire Associates’ Senior Consultant Larry Butler titled A Multidimensional Approach to Student Retention. Preparing for a webinar started 3 months before the production date with drafts of supplemental materials and slides. The effort culminated in a trip to Magna’s studio where Roland and Sarah were joined by Managing Editor Kate Stover (who expertly applied makeup – see the pictures below!), Editor Therese Kattner, and a crew of sound and camera technicians. It’s a bit disconcerting to speak to a camera with a stuffed animal on top rather than a live audience!
